    AMA-zing Training

    I have been training at the York Academy of Martial Arts for over 15 years! The friendly atmosphere, the extraordinary people, and the amazing training have made me stick with it and want to continue to learn and grow. I've been able to stay fit and healthy, learn how to defend myself, and grow in confidence and character. The York AMA has benefitted my life is so many ways and I am forever grateful. I completely recommend this school to anyone who is yearning for a life changing experience!

    Excellent Dojo

    York Acadamey of Martial Arts is a family run, traditional dojo focusing on Okinawan Karate but with a broad scope that also includes traditional Okinawan weapons (Kobudo), Self Defence, Tai-Chi and more. With members as young as 4 and as old as 70 there is something for everyone. Anyone looking to learn Karate in a traditional Dojo and train their Mind, Body and Spirit should deinfitely come and try one of the classes for free. I found this Dojo over three years ago and have never looked back. Having trained at several different places in the past York Academy of Martial Arts is by far the best and I recomend it to anyone.

    Life changing

    Being a member since February 2011, I write as a newbie to the Dojo and to Martial Arts training. In the short time here I cannot begin to explain how much I have learned about the art, life in general, and myself as a human being. I think different, react different, and I credit it all to the training of mind and body given to me from this dojo. If you want to grow, be challenged, learn about yourself, this is the right place for you. See you there!

    The York Academy of Martial Arts is a real find. I have been training there for a few years now and it always astound me how much there is to learn: from traditional Karate to ground defense and weapons. There are also some Taichi and stretching classes available and there is a small gym. Thank you York AMA for keeping me healthy and fit!!
